Words I've written
After attending journalism school at Ryerson University in Toronto, Ontario, I spent some time on the newsstand business side of magazines. As a new grad and a life-long magazine junkie, it was an exhilarating and interesting experience, but writing was always my first love. After stints at Coast to Coast Newsstand (where I met my husband Peter!) and House & Home magazine in consumer marketing, I joined the research team at Chatelaine, where I was able to flex my writing muscle in between checking the mag's facts. After two years and three different job titles, I crossed the floor (literally) to Today's Parent, where I was editor of todaysparent.com. Funnily enough, when I finally became a parent I decided to make a career change to freelance writing and editing, allowing for more flexible hours and the opportunity to work on a variety of content. It's been five years and I've never looked back.
